A cohesive and focused curriculum is in place at YPS and teaching staff continues to participate in extensive work sessions to create a successful and seamless transition for students as they move through the educational process. Curriculum mapping, a rigorous learning pace at all grade levels and supplemental programs to support students who are lagging in their core classes are hallmarks of the YPS learning experience. The district has adopted the philosophy that "Failure is Not an Option" and is evident in the focus of professional development sessions and the attitude of all principals, teachers and support staff. Our goal is to provide students with an excellent education along with extracurricular enhancements that will develop their minds, shape their character and encourage integrity.
Grades are a form of communication and are given to help the student and the parent to gain a perspective on how well the student is grasping the content. These grades are based on academic work done in the classroom.
