Introduction:

A Journey to Excellence

Ypsilanti Public Schools is in the midst of change that brings increasing focus on improving the tangible, observed, and evaluated knowledge of all of our students. We are working to build an overall improvement program with coherence that provides focus on what has been proven to be effective practices while pushing away practices that can distract from what is needed.

There exists a great desire for mastery among all staff in order to provide students with the best possible instruction and classroom culture. This concept of program coherence sets the stage for strong partnerships between YPS and the universities and colleges in the community. These partnerships include a long-term commitment and then the application of knowledge and skills in new contexts as mastery expands.
