YPS Bond Question and Answers
Q. With bond dollars, does the district plan to purchase Macintosh or Windows based computers for the classroom?
A. Currently the district is in the process of selecting a technology designer. Staff input, the designer, the district's technology committee and with the use of data will determine the best computer options for students.
Q. The bond is being completed over a period of years, how many phases are there and when will the first one begin?
A. There are three phases. Phase I will begin in June 2008 and will involve work at Perry Child Development Center, Estabrook Elementary and Ypsilanti High School.
Q. Why was Perry, Estabrook and Ypsilanti High School selected as part of the first phase?
A. When the previous bond was instituted, the renovations to Perry and Estabrook were not as extensive as work performed on other district buildings. As a result, these buildings were selected to be included in Phase I. Ypsilanti High School was selected because of its size and the complexity of renovation work involved. The intent of the district is to have all instructional facilities renovated in Phase I and Phase II of the bond.
