East and West Middle School Sixth Grade "Michigan Action for Healthy Kids" and "Recharge" Activities

East and West Middle Schools received their official plaque award from the Michigan Action for Healthy Kids, part of the Michigan Surgeon General's Healthy School Environment Recognition Program. The schools were recognized for their efforts to raise student awareness regarding the importance of developing good nutrition and exercise habits.

Sixth grade West Middle School students participated in a "Recharge" activity, May 28 that involved participating in a variety of physical activities. Students rotated through stations that challenged their coordination and physical stamina. The event is part of the Project Healthy Schools program, A University of Michigan Health Systems imitative.
