Welcome Parents!
Parental involvement is one of the keys to the success of a school district. Ypsilanti Public Schools offers parents a variety of venues to support and encourage the learning process. Each school has an organized parent-teacher group that works in tandem with building administrators to promote student achievement. While participation in the parent-teacher organizations is encouraged, most parent volunteers are found in the classroom reading to students, lending a hand with special science, math or social studies activities, sharing their unique skills and talents with students or chaperoning field trips. Booster groups, including athletics, band and choir, are parent driven and another vital component of student life.
The information contained on this site should guide you to a number of areas that will help you gain a better understanding of what YPS offers to our over 4,000 students and how you can partner with the district to maximize student success.
In an effort to elevate the positive initiatives that take place in the district, the Board of Education moved to add a new agenda item to each meeting called "Celebrating Success."Cebrating Success Initiatives Information
