Adams Academy teacher Sima Thurman along with other staff and parents, escorted 34 students to Haab's Restaurant, downtown Ypsilanti, to celebrate their successful completion of a Life Skills unit. The interactive lessons, based on educator Ron Clarke's book "55 Essential Rules for Success," students learned the importance of social etiquette. During their May 20 luncheon students placed napkins in their laps, male students rose from their seats when a female left the table and "please" and "thank yous" were heard in abundance.
