Perry Literacy Academy

Literacy Enrichments

The literacy program will include literacy-enriched curriculum in math, science, and social studies. Additional literacy workshops will include drama, reader's theater, writer's workshop, and foreign language. All enrichments are added to allow students the opportunities to explore literacy through the arts.

Individualized Education

Each student will be given an individualized literacy learning plan (ILLP) that will help teachers focus instruction on the specific needs of that student. This intervention is aimed at helping the struggling reader, as well as pushing those with high literacy skills. Teachers will use assessment results to modify the instruction and curriculum provided.
