"The Academies of YHS"
A vibrant environment with high educational standards welcomes the over 1,000 students at Ypsilanti High School. The staff provides a number of services and support to maximize student success and to provide the tools to carry teens into adulthood. Alliances with corporate and scientific leaders give students opportunities to visit off-campus work sites and to explore a variety of career possibilities. The following is a sample of what students can expect from a four-year experience at YHS:
Award-winning performing and fine arts programs that give students the freedom to express themselves in a multiplicity of ways
Technology coupled with advanced placement classes prepare students for post education and future occupations
Over 20 different clubs and after-school activities allow students to thrive in a more relaxed setting
Partnerships with Health Occupations Partners in Education (HOPE), Altarum and local universities provide additional credibility to the educational experience
A Dual Enrollment program allows students to complete their high school education while taking college level courses from Eastern Michigan University or Washtenaw Community College
The Regional Career Technical Center provides real life skills from auto collision repair to culinary arts
Academic excellence spills onto the playing field where student athletes expel energy, vitality and sportsmanship. From football to track, students have an array of fall, winter and spring sports to participate with to develop in a physical arena
Recognition for achievement is acknowledged internally and externally so that the school and larger community can celebrate student successes. Honor recognition programs, media coverage and high profile display cases spotlight student accomplishment
The "Update to Educate" bond is completed and thanks to the voters within the YPS District boundaries we have updated technology, infrastructure, new roofs, heating and cooling systems, athletic facilities improvement and more!
